This 6-inch bird is native to Indonesia and was first introduced to Hawaii in 1867. It is commonly found in Oahu, Kauai, the Kona Coast, and has been recorded in Maui. Its song is a pleasant oft warble and its call is a metallic "pik-pik-pik".
